Other Programmes and Activities
The objective of the Hi-tech scheme is to produce trained personnel with the range of skill necessary to meet the requirements of Industry, commerce and domestic in the application of electronics, computer and the modern production system.
COMPUTER TRAINING:
In addition to craftsmen training, the institute provides computer training to all trainees.
This training program covers Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet usage. By imparting these skills, students gain the ability to access their data, placement information, and other resources by logging in through any computer system.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT:
The Institute offers a two-week industrial tour for ITI students, providing them with valuable practical exposure in their respective fields. Accommodation will be provided by the institute during the visit, allowing students to gain hands-on experience and engage meaningfully with rapidly changing machinery and equipment.
VALUE ADDED TRAINING PROGRAMME:
To address the needs of industries, particularly small-scale enterprises, a multi-skill value-added training program is conducted towards the end of the institutional training period. This program, designed as per the course curriculum, aims to equip trainees with working knowledge in allied trades, enabling them to meet the requirements of small and tiny industries and facilitating gainful self-employment opportunities.
The training program takes place in various settings, including the institute’s central workshop, advanced laboratories of the degree engineering wing, local prospective industries, and institutions such as the Central Tool Room Training Centre (CTTC) and the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET). It covers a wide range of topics, including communication skills, spoken English, aptitude tests, quantitative ability, and reasoning, to align students with current market demands.
Regular classes under the Entrepreneurship Development Programme are also organized, featuring resource persons from organizations such as I.E.D, NABARD, DIC, SIDBI, and other commercial banks.
SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP:
The institute regularly organizes seminars, symposiums, and workshops to enhance students’ awareness of modern pedagogy and the workings of contemporary industries. Eminent engineers, KIIT-ITI alumni, professionals from established industries, and government officials are invited to share their expertise and insights with students.
These events provide valuable exposure to job-oriented practical work, benefiting trainees by acquainting them with real-world industry practices and requirements. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, students gain a deeper understanding of industry trends, technologies, and career opportunities, enriching their learning experience and preparing them for the workforce.
